The project aims to contribute to sustainable competitiveness in companies in Navarre, that is, that companies and workers integrate the environment as a priority competitiveness factor in business management.
This objective will be carried out through:
- Increasing the skills and qualifications of workers in environmental and sustainability issues, with a view to improving employment in general and in the environmental sector in particular.
- The promotion of business modernisation by promoting sustainability.
- The adaptation of business activity to environmental regulations.
Another of the fundamental objectives of this initiative is to implement environmental management and corporate social responsibility systems in SMEs in the environmental sector and other industrial and service sectors in Navarre.
The scenario proposed by this project assumes that the business fabric of SMEs in this autonomous community will have fully integrated in their management compliance with the environmental regulations that affect them, knowledge of the implications of their activity for the environment and the implementation of corrective measures and minimisation of consumption. It also aims to integrate environmental management in a transversal way with quality and prevention systems, and to value and transmit its good practices in terms of economic, social and environmental sustainability (CSR).
All the actions of the project are aimed at workers and managers of SMEs and micro-SMEs, as well as self-employed workers. The main sectors in which it is affected are environmental services, companies that have started the implementation of an environmental management system or have one already implemented and/or certified, and others such as agri-food, hospitality, metallurgy, automotive, construction, wood, graphic arts, plumbing, transport, gardening, textile, chemical and production of environmental goods.
