Eco-innovation in the wood sector

MITECO

The main objective of the project is to promote eco-innovation in SMEs and micro-SMEs in the wood and furniture sector around critical aspects related to the sustainability of this economic activity: eco-design, energy efficiency and waste treatment.

The main objective of the project is to promote eco-innovation in SMEs and micro-SMEs in the wood and furniture sector around critical aspects related to the sustainability of this economic activity: eco-design, energy efficiency and waste treatment.

To this end, they propose a series of training, awareness-raising and advisory activities aimed at workers belonging to companies and entities integrated in the wood sector in the following productive activities: extraction and cutting of wood, first transformation of wood (sawmilling and production of board and veneer), second transformation of wood (manufacture of carpentry elements, furniture, wooden containers and packaging), equipment and supply activities and advanced services.

This initiative is based on a training-action model that allows achieving results of a social, environmental, quantitative, qualitative, measurable and lasting nature and that can be replicated in other companies, all for the benefit of workers, companies in the sector and the environment.
