The overall objective of this initiative is to conserve the biodiversity of the river habitats of the Guadalimar basin, province of Jaén.
The overall objective of this initiative is to conserve the biodiversity of the river habitats of the Guadalimar basin, province of Jaén.
Specifically, the project aims to:
- Carry out a mapping of the species of fish, naiads, otter, turtles and crabs.
- To obtain a water quality map in the basin, according to the relevant standardisation for compliance with the Water Directive.
- Describe the state of conservation of riparian ecosystems and plant communities.
- Identify areas of special value for the conservation of biodiversity.
- Propose a plan of action measures to improve conservation in specific sections.
- Edit and distribute 1,000 copies of a technical volume that offers the results of the project.
- To publish and distribute 1,000 copies of an informative volume.
- To train new professionals through the participation of specialised volunteers.
To achieve this, the following activities will be carried out:
- Call for volunteers.
- Location of sampling stations.
- Carrying out the sampling.
- Preparation of biogeographic maps.
- Report on the ecological status of the river basin.
- Preparation of informative material and technical publications.
