The main objective of this project is to have a sufficient number of tagged females that can be used to locate clutches and be removed to form part of the captive stock of the Ex-situ Conservation Program.
The main objective of this project is to have a sufficient number of tagged females that can be used to locate clutches and be removed to form part of the captive stock of the Ex-situ Conservation Program.
In order to achieve the objectives indicated, the following actions will be carried out:
- Search, capture and radiotagging of capercaillie specimens in the Autonomous Community of Asturias.
- Search, capture and radiotagging of capercaillie specimens in the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León.
- Search, capture and radio-tagging of capercaillie specimens in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, if requested by its Administration.
- Monitoring of radiotagged specimens.
- Removal of clutches of radio-tagged specimens, where appropriate.
- Image recording.
- Scientific advice.
- Support for the Autonomous Communities involved.
