The MamaTerra Ecological Children’s Festival or MamaTerra Festival is a project that has been carried out since 2007 with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation and since then it has welcomed an average of 3,000 children in each city that is celebrated.

The actions carried out within the framework of this project have offered eco-educational children’s activities that respond to the environmental needs of our society, so that new generations develop an ecological awareness and are better prepared to face present environmental challenges (such as the rapid loss of biodiversity) and future. This project has contributed and is contributing to charting the path towards an ecological and sustainable culture, consolidating eco-education, is one of the fundamental steps for the sustainable development of our societies.

The 2017 edition of the MamaTerra Children’s Ecological Festival in Valencia and Madrid has been a success. The children and families of these capitals have been able to enjoy a space where they can learn and integrate the values of biodiversity conservation, respect for the environment and ecology, while sharing their wishes for a better world. Participation has been high, 1,200 children in Valencia and 3,500 in Madrid, and both schools and families have valued their time at the festival very positively.
