The general objective of the project is to train and advise participants on the environmental nature of sustainable garden cultivation and on its possibilities in a green economy regime.
The initiative consists of the development of activities that promote, preferably, the conservation of biodiversity and natural heritage, since the orchards that are intended to be recovered are part of it. They represent a remarkable area of biodiversity and are at serious risk of disappearing.
Some of the causes that endanger these orchards are related to the second line of work: the need for sustainable development of the rural environment. Obviously, the gradual loss of the rural environment is a threat to the survival of these crops. For this reason, the second line is also considered as a vehicle and resource to achieve and strengthen the first, which is the preferential one.
Work will therefore be carried out on two strategic axes: conservation of natural heritage and biodiversity and sustainable development in rural areas. The first will be promoted through sustainable agriculture, betting on the rational use of water and boundaries. As for sustainable rural development and equality, it is a constant objective for the beneficiary and the entities with which it works in a network in the area.
The recipients of this project are the producers of the Claudia reina de Nalda y Quel plum brand, farmers in general and workers from other interested entities. A plan will also be created for the socio-labor inclusion of the groups that find it more difficult to enter the labor market in this area.
