The Association for the Ecological Defense of Galicia (ADEGA) was a beneficiary in the 2017 call for grants with the project Custodiando o Sobreiral do Arnego, which aims to study and carry outconservation actions in the ark oak forest of the Arnego River.
The project has served to give a great boost to the land stewardship agreement signed by ADEGA with the owner family since 2016, since a large part of the activities planned within the framework of this agreement have been carried out during this past year 2018. On the other hand, actions such as Bioblitzs or the installation of refuge boxes for bats are actions that will serve as the basis for a long-term project, as they allow the actions carried out to be assessed, taking into account the most vulnerable species, or to study the impact of factors such as climate change. The involvement of volunteers in all the activities has also been important.
