This initiative is aimed at workers in rural Galician municipalities, located in the “Terras do Miño” Biosphere Reserve, affected by a process of abandonment of the rural environment, aging of the population and emigration of young people to urban environments.

This initiative is aimed at workers in rural Galician municipalities, located in the “Terras do Miño” Biosphere Reserve, affected by a process of abandonment of the rural environment, aging of the population and emigration of young people to urban environments.

The objectives to be achieved are, on the one hand, to disseminate a culture of business sustainability, with the recipients being current entrepreneurs as well as their workers, especially those with low qualifications. On the other hand, with the intention of promoting entrepreneurial culture, attention will be paid to people over 45 years of age, women, the disabled and immigrants.

A set of activities will be developed that will serve as a tool to establish models for the sustainable use of the protected areas and natural resources of the “Terras do Miño” Biosphere Reserve.

Its basis is the establishment of population in rural areas, the conservation of natural, historical and cultural heritage, the sustainable use of resources, and the detection of new business opportunities linked to the conservation and enhancement of the environment. To this end, the design of strategies and employment alternatives (and improvement of it) associated with the backbone resource of this Reserve: water is sought. Guititriz is considered a pilot municipality for some activities.
