The main objective of the project is to encourage landowners in the Serranía de Ronda (Málaga) to recover the traditional boundaries of their farms.
The main objective of the project is to encourage landowners in the Serranía de Ronda (Málaga) to recover the traditional boundaries of their farms.
Specifically, it aims to:
- To demonstrate the effectiveness of dry stone and plant boundaries for livestock farms.
- Improve permeability for the fauna of the traditional borders.
- To increase the landscape value of the area.
The actions included in this initiative are:
- Recover the perimeter of dry stone boundaries of the experimental farm of CEDER “La Fresneda”.
- To award a prize to the owner who has recovered the most metres of boundary.
- Creating majanos to promote the reproduction of rabbits, reptiles and rodents.
- Establish an agreement with the Sierra de Ronda Natural Park to study the impact on fauna of the recovery of traditional boundaries.
- Edit informative brochures.
