The Fundación Privada Mar has carried out a study of the invasive exotic species present in the Bay of Alfacs to control the marine ecosystem of the area and prevent the loss of diversity and possible changes in the environment. The project has been “Invasive marine species in the Bay of Alfacs. Environmental impact and management tools”.

The Fundación Privada Mar has completed the project ‘Invasive marine species in the Bay of Alfacs. Environmental impact and management tools’. An initiative that has been supported by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition in the framework of its 2017 call for grants.

The project has carried out a study of the invasive exotic species present in the Bay of Alfacs. Through the samplings carried out within the framework of the project, the presence of 7 invasive species has been detected. With the information obtained, they have made an information sheet of each of them, including the distribution area of the species, the communities of interest present in the area, cartography, images and biological data of the species. The Bay of Alfacs is partially included in the SCI and SPA Delta de l’Ebre.
