The project consists of the study and characterisation of the small wetlands (lagoons) of the SCI Sierra de Fonfría, province of Teruel, artificially created for livestock use several years ago.
The project consists of the study and characterisation of the small wetlands (lagoons) of the SCI Sierra de Fonfría, province of Teruel, artificially created for livestock use several years ago.
The loss of traditional use and the progressive abandonment of these means are endangering the survival of species adapted to them, among which the San Antón frog or the native crab stand out.
The work of this study consists of the measurement of physical-chemical parameters, among others, acidity, alkalinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, hardness and turbidity and the sampling of amphibious and aquatic plant communities.
This initiative finally contemplates the design of a Management and Conservation Plan with specific proposals for the preservation of these spaces and the set of species linked to them, based on the results obtained from the study.
