The project aims to achieve the maintenance of traditional agricultural activities in the environment of Astragalus nitididflorus (Tallante’s Garbancillo), an endemic species of Cartagena in critical danger of extinction linked to the traditional management of rainfed almond crops; along with the promotion of the natural and cultural values of the agrosystem environment in which its scarce populations are maintained.
In order to ensure the joint conservation of this natural and cultural heritage, it is intended to promote the ecotourism development of the area to generate positive socioeconomic impacts that allow owners and users of the territory to maintain the traditional activities that allow the maintenance of the ecological niche of the species.
This project aims to develop priority measures to promote sustainable tourism and employment in relation to the Natura 2000 Network (priority 29.1 of the Priority Action Framework for the Natura 2000 Network in Spain).
