MamaTerra, Ecological Festival of Children

MITECO

Mamaterra is the Ecological Festival of Children that is held within the framework of the BioCultura fair.

Mamaterra is a global project that was born in 2006 in the form of an Ecological Festival of Children within the BioCultura fair, in Barcelona and Madrid. Since 2009 it has been held in Valencia and in 2013 it was held for the first time in Bilbao.

The Ecological Children’s Festival is a long-awaited and unique cultural and educational event in terms of the environment, ecology, healthy and sustainable production. Cultivating children’s intelligence towards a culture of biodiversity and sustainability is essential in an environmental and social context such as the current one.

The MamaTerra Festival creates its own materials aimed at children, teachers and families, which are used in the format of games, recycling workshops, renewable energies, plant forests, water management, recreational performances, concerts, cooking workshops, organic gardening, stories, films… Activities so that children can enjoy learning to love Mother Earth.

Parents and educators are part of this learning process and therefore Mamaterra is also aimed at them. The materials and tools that attendees find are useful to gain an environmental and health awareness that is essential to enjoy a dignified present and future
