The project aims to contribute to the conservation of the rich birdlife of Nerpio, province of Albacete, since it is the central element of the municipality’s tourist activity.

The specific actions are as follows:

• Awareness campaign with schoolchildren and the general population of Nerpio.
• Creation of a volunteer group.
• Preparation of a training offer in ornithology.
• Preparation of information material for the tourist information point of Nerpio.
• Publication of a guide to good environmental practices.
• Creation of sustainable tourism package offers.
• Creation and provision of a vulture observatory in the Mudalar de Mingarnao and adaptation of the observatory in the Casa del Pantano.
• Adaptation of viewpoints at points suitable for bird watching, in addition to the adaptation of specific trails.
• Adaptation of parking lots.
• Enabling electronic cartography and itineraries with GPS.
• Study, report and seminar with businessmen and the population on the benefits of ornithological tourism.
• Collaboration agreements with the Albacete Ornithological Society association to participate in its activities and to receive information.
• Campaign to disseminate the ornithological tourism offer of Nerpio.
• Dissemination campaign among ornithology enthusiasts at national and international levels.
• Creation of a specific microsite of the ornithological offer integrated into the tourism page of the city council.
• Integration of the ornithological tourism offer to all the communication supports of the municipality.
