The project aims to enhance the forest masses in the area of influence of the Doñana Natural Area, towards the increase and improvement of their current ecosystem products and services, through knowledge and the use of management instruments/tools, which favour ecosystem sustainability, environmental improvement and sustainable territorial development.

In addition, it will develop a culture of sustainable forest management in the Doñana forests that cover approximately 102,280 ha, acting directly on 2,000 ha.

Its specific objectives include:

• To promote the ecological transition of the Doñana forestry sector towards the sustainable management of all resources, through a Network of experts and professionals and a Guide to Good Practices in Sustainable and Holistic Multifunctional Forest Management
• Develop a system for analysing, monitoring and evaluating forest resources using satellite imagery
• Develop a digital management tool to boost and strengthen the forestry sector, facilitating the connection and integration between the different agents
• Develop and value ecosystem services as a source of value in addition to the available resources
• Developing green employment/entrepreneurship with people and forest bioeconomy projects with a gender perspective
• Promote gender equality and disadvantaged groups, giving them priority
• Transferability and dissemination to the sector and other territories

• Creation of a Forestry Network of professional experts, owners, livestock farmers and companies related to the management and mobilisation of forest resources in the Doñana area.
• Development of a Guide to Good Practices in Sustainable Forest Management.
• Training in the sustainable management and mobilization of Doñana’s forest resources.
• Selection of plots and implementation of sustainable forest management measures.
• Selection of plots and use of extensive livestock farming as a tool for sustainable forest management.
• Management methodology and evaluation using satellite images of the state of forest resources in the Doñana area of influence.
• Validation with field measurements of the evaluation carried out with satellite images.
• Assessment of sustainable forest management using satellite imagery of 20 forest plots.
• Digital Services Portal for sustainable forest management in Doñana.
• Access guide for the valuation and monetization of ecosystem services associated with the sustainable management of Doñana forest areas.
• Land Stewardship as a tool for the conservation of the Doñana forest area.
• Forest Bioeconomy: business and entrepreneurship opportunities.
• Mentoring and Accompaniment Programme for gender equality and disadvantaged groups.
• Transfer, replicability and dissemination of good forestry practices.
