This initiative seeks to promote the use of solid biomass as a renewable energy resource within the forestry, agricultural and wood industry sectors in Castilla y León.
The aim is to disseminate among workers the multiple environmental, economic and social benefits that can be attributed to the use of biomass, as well as to promote employment in rural areas.
The project is aimed at workers in the forestry, agricultural and timber sectors of Castilla y León. It will be based on knowledge of the situation of the sector and the problems associated with the energy use of the waste generated. From there, the creation of companies in the most disadvantaged areas of the Region will be encouraged. The creation and improvement of employment related to the sectors involved will also be promoted, within the framework of the production of solid biomass.
Among other tasks contemplated in the project, the following can be highlighted:
- Awareness and dynamization of the environment of the energy use of biomass and the use of non-polluting renewable energies.
- Creation of a coordination structure that allows existing resources to be made profitable.
- Research on the future of this sector for the configuration of training needs and professional profiles.
