From 19 to 23 October 2009, this training course was held with the aim of providing theoretical knowledge and practical bases for the design and implementation of gardens based on respect for the natural environment.
It was intended for 22 students: farmers, people interested in starting agricultural activities of an ecological nature, teachers and monitors with responsibilities in educational gardens.
Contents:
- Organic garden: Basic needs. Space, design, planning and realization.
- Fertility of the organic garden: Basic needs of the cultivated plants. Fertilizers
green, compost.
- Plant reproduction: seeds, seedbeds, transplants. Obtaining seeds and
Breeding plants with quality assurance and ecological methods.
- Production and work techniques of the garden. Plant reproduction. Work and
cultivation techniques.
- Energy-efficient irrigation installations.
- Crops. Harvesting, processing and conservation of crops.
- Eventual problems: pests and diseases. Solutions.
- Marketing and current regulations on organic farming.
It took place from 19 to 23 October 2009, in Navalcarnero, at the Río Guadarrama Nursery School of the Ministry of the Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs – Autonomous Agency for National Parks.
