This project aims to develop biodiversity monitoring indicators associated with environmental change.

The project “Pilot Centre for Monitoring the Biodiversity of Mediterranean Mountains: Development of Environmental Change Indicators, Monitoring Protocols and Conservation Applications” aims to develop biodiversity monitoring indicators associated with environmental change and monitoring protocols for the indicators for subsequent transfer to researchers and managers, within the framework of a mountain biodiversity monitoring centre Mediterranean.

This initiative of the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation It has established criteria for the selection of cross-cutting indicators at the level of species, habitats, ecological processes and factors of change with the aim of applying them in long-term monitoring in an adaptive management framework. For each indicator, they have designed specific monitoring protocols to be implemented in the field by managers, researchers and professionals.

The actions carried out have served to develop biodiversity monitoring indicators associated with environmental change, as well as the protocols for monitoring the indicators and their transfer to researchers and managers within the framework of a biodiversity monitoring centre in the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac Natural Park.
