The project in question aims to highlight the commitment to biodiversity that the 2016 edition of Conama entailed, which was held with the slogan “The Answer is Green” so that the networks of agents created are not only maintained but also enriched, bring together more actors and address the issues of greatest concern in the sector. All this must be at the service of incorporating biodiversity policies in organizations (public, private, social, etc.) and that all agents collaborate with the fulfillment of state policies on biodiversity.

The main objective seeks to contribute to the fulfilment of the European and national commitments on biodiversity of the then Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment (MAPAMA), promoting debate, dialogue and multi-stakeholder work, so that in turn it contributes to developing content for the next Strategic Plan for natural heritage and biodiversity.

The specific objectives are as follows:

• Enrichment and consolidation of networks of actors aimed at the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity
• Identify key issues on biodiversity conservation and sustainable use, to be included in the 2018 Conama work program, through a participatory, representative and useful process for MAPAMA.
• To analyse and value the results of the Strategic Plan for Natural Heritage and Biodiversity 2011‐2017 and to propose new lines of action that can help MAPAMA.
• Communication on the social importance of biodiversity and the economic and employment opportunities generated around its conservation.

• Identify key actors who have not been incorporated into the working groups or committees on biodiversity in the past Conama to consolidate the networks of agents related to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
• Design of the Conama2018 program through a participatory process among the identifying agents, for which key issues for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity will be identified to include in the Conama 2018 work program.
• Creation and implementation of a Working Group on the Strategic Plan for Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, which is multi-agent and incorporates, in addition to representatives of the administrations, different economic and social sectors.
• Communication Plan of the Congress and the area of biodiversity, which includes the design of the image and the communication strategy, as well as the launch of the Conama 2018 call, publication and launch of the program, electronic newsletters, information on social networks, etc.

The Conama 2018 Preparation project has aimed to prepare the 14th Edition of the National Congress of the Environment (Conama 2018), through the generation of 52 committees and working groups, of which 6 make up the biodiversity axis and another 8 have an aligned approach with the conservation of biodiversity in the rest of the thematic axes of the congress. with the participation of 368 professionals aimed at contributing to the fulfilment of the Ministry’s European commitments on biodiversity. This project has generated the official program of Conama 2018, with 27% focused on the conservation of nature and biodiversity and 15 high-level meetings have been held for the review of the new Strategic Plan for Natural Heritage and Biodiversity 2019.
