In order to protect biodiversity through the control of common and zoonotic diseases inside and outside the Kahuzi-Biega National Park, the project envisages the implementation of a veterinary care system through the recruitment and training of a local veterinarian.

In order to protect biodiversity through the control of common and zoonotic diseases inside and outside the Kahuzi-Biega National Park, the project envisages the implementation of a veterinary care system through the recruitment and training of a local veterinarian.

This specialist will be in charge of visiting the beneficiary families, collecting data to draw up an Epidemiological Plan, providing the necessary medicines and monitoring cases, developing a database to improve diagnosis thanks to and be able to analyse the evolution of diseases in the area.

In addition, within the framework of the project and to carry out the Epidemiological Plan, the Health Reference Centre will be created in Lwiro, rehabilitating and equipping a human/animal laboratory thanks to the creation of a Telepathology Network between Coopera-Pole Pole and the Andalusian Institute of Pathology and Microbiology.
