The project aims to ensure the coherence of the Natura 2000 Network by promoting the adoption of homogeneous criteria agreed by the competent authorities, which allow the management plans to meet quality criteria, both from the formal and content point of view.

The project aims to ensure the coherence of the Natura 2000 Network by promoting the adoption of homogeneous criteria agreed by the competent authorities, which allow the management plans to meet quality criteria, both from the formal and content point of view.

To this end, actions are proposed in two complementary directions. On the one hand, to promote the application of the quality standard for the preparation of management plans in protected areas of the Natura 2000 Network, and on the other, to launch an online tool that allows the degree of development of management plans in the Natura 2000 Network in Spain to be evaluated. In addition, it is proposed to develop tools to facilitate the incorporation of the actions and priorities defined in the Priority Action Framework for the Natura 2000 Network in the process of drawing up and developing management plans.

The project is complemented by a set of dissemination actions aimed at guaranteeing the visibility of the results achieved, and a seminar with the technical managers of the Natura 2000 Network in the public administrations.

The project received the Natura 2000 award from the European Commission in the category “Award for Networking and Cross-Border Cooperation” in 2014.
