This project works for the recovery of Bonelli’s eagle populations in Madrid, Navarre and the Balearic Islands, through the reintroduction of specimens from captive breeding and removed from nests of the Andalusian population.

This project works for the recovery of Bonelli’s eagle populations in Madrid, Navarre and the Balearic Islands, through the reintroduction of specimens from captive breeding and removed from nests of the Andalusian population.

To achieve these objectives, the following actions have been outlined:

• Breeding in captivity.
• Rehabilitation of injured specimens.
• Clinical analysis and sexing of specimens destined for release
• Reintroduction; feeding and surveillance during release by the method of hacking and/or acclimatization.
• Marking and tracking (VHF and GPS).
• Monitoring of power lines to locate black spots of bird mortality and rectification to minimize this mortality.
• Guided tours of the GREFA Educational Center “Naturaleza Viva”. Dissemination of the project in the media, websites, etc.
