The objective is to promote responsible investments linked to the fight against climate change and the conservation of biodiversity in the area of action of the Convention on Food Safety and Environmental Governance (SAGE).

The objective is to promote responsible investments linked to the fight against climate change and the conservation of biodiversity in the area of action of the Convention on Food Safety and Environmental Governance (SAGE).

The initiative will take place in the natural region of Casamance, located in the southwest of Senegal, between Gambia to the north and Guinea-Bissau to the south.

Currently in the natural region of Casamance, possible irresponsible investments in the purchase of land are being detected, which result in the loss of biodiversity and condition the access of vulnerable people to environmental resources, in addition to affecting food security.

The project presents two areas of intervention: Spain and the Casamance region, with the aim of raising awareness among the actors involved through a communication and awareness campaign.

The initiative proposes the implementation of a communication and advocacy campaign based on truthful data on this problem, which will provide research carried out within the framework of the project. The campaign will disseminate this data to Spanish citizens, public institutions, international cooperation actors and Spanish companies.

On the other hand, the results of the research will be made known to local organizations and actions will be carried out to strengthen and empower these NGOs. These actions will culminate in the design and implementation of advocacy and awareness-raising strategies aimed at society and public institutions in the Casamance region, to make them aware of the disastrous consequences of irresponsible investments in the biodiversity of the area, and which directly affect the management of natural resources.
