The objective of the project is the restoration of degraded land, devoid of vegetation cover and subject to strong erosive processes, with the aim of recovering the habitat of interest for the species of land snail Iberus gualtieranus, endemic in Andalusia.
The objective of the project is the restoration of degraded land, devoid of vegetation cover and subject to strong erosive processes, with the aim of recovering the habitat of interest for the species of land snail Iberus gualtieranus, endemic in Andalusia.
It is intended to:
- Recover habitats for the development of the natural processes that constitute the ideal habitat for the snail species.
- Revegetate the area with native species.
- To control erosion processes through the use of bioengineering techniques in degraded spaces.
- Train local staff in the use and installation of bioengineering materials and techniques for landscape slope restoration and erosion control.
- Raise awareness about the importance of habitat recovery and avoiding the collection of specimens for the conservation of the snail species.
