The main objective of this project is to increase the capacities of workers in the wood and furniture sector in terms of environmental sustainability in order to bring about a change towards an activity with a lower environmental impact.

To this end, this initiative proposes the following activities:

– Development of sectoral guides for eco-design and good production practices and a study of new, more sustainable materials.

– Conducting training courses on sustainability and competitiveness in wood and furniture companies.

– Provision of training in eco-design, sustainable production and creativity applied to eco-innovation.

Companies that internalise concepts such as eco-design, sustainable production or eco-innovation will be able to use materials with a lower environmental impact, avoid the use of substances that are harmful to the design of the environment, reduce their energy consumption and reduce the amount of waste generated, thus contributing to the fight against climate change and environmental conservation.

The main recipients of this project are workers from SMEs and micro-SMEs in the sector, located in the autonomous communities with the greatest activity in the manufacture of furniture and industrial carpentry such as Catalonia, the Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands and Murcia.
