The overall objective is to use generative agriculture and livestock principles based on scientific evidence to improve the sustainability of agricultural and livestock practices, restore biodiversity in agroecosystems, and foster a socioeconomic fabric that seeks resilience and environmental, cultural and socioeconomic sustainability through diversification and complementarity of uses.
Together, it seeks a deep and collective transformation of the landscape towards sustainable agroecosystems.
Doñana Regenera proposes three lines of actions that contribute to innovation in the agricultural sector and the restoration of biodiversity through scientific and technological knowledge.
The first line of actions is aimed at changing agricultural and livestock practices of high environmental cost in the main crops in the environment, including red fruits, vegetables, citrus fruits and olives. The aim is to improve the flow of services generated by agroecosystems and, at the same time, demonstrate the value of rainfed crops such as vines, annual plant crops and the recovery of native breeds.
In the second line of actions, it is expected to increase the biodiversity of vertebrate fauna and insects through the active restoration of natural vegetation, thus promoting the self-organization of ecological communities.
Finally, the third line of actions will synthesize the results of the experimental actions carried out and combine them with other similar experiences, so that they can be known, applied and their economic and social viability evaluated by a broad group of farmers, associations and companies.
