With this initiative, IUCN seeks to influence, from the national to the international scale, conservation policies, generating alliances.
The Spanish Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has launched this initiative with which it seeks to influence, from the national to the international scale, conservation policies, generating alliances and common positions regarding priority issues in nature conservation.
Thus, the fundamental objective is for national conservation actors to be able to improve their knowledge and innovative solutions to be shared in the most prominent conservation events on the international agenda. At the same time, the initiative aims to allow the Spanish conservation sector to continue positioning itself internationally and generating alliances with other conservation agents in other countries.
Another objective is to increase the visibility of the efforts of Spanish entities in nature conservation and to disseminate and debate IUCN’s knowledge products.
To this end, a series of activities will be launched:
- Information Collection Actions
- Actions to disseminate IUCN’s knowledge products, such as holding the IUCN Spanish Committee’s Nature Conservation Forum under the theme of the Red List’s 50th anniversary
- Actions to disseminate the efforts of the Spanish conservation sector for nature conservation with the celebration of a parallel event at the World Parks Congress
- Actions to influence conservation policies from the national to the international scale
- Communication actions such as the renewal of the website of the IUCN Spanish Committee and the transfer of the information of the observatories and conclusions of the events to be held to social networks and the media
