The execution of this project aims to achieve the socio-economic revitalization of the enclave of the Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés Protected Natural Area – Xurés World Biosphere Reserve.

The project is mainly aimed at forestry and agricultural workers, and workers and managers of SMEs and micro-SMEs, as well as self-employed workers.

The objectives to be achieved with this initiative are:

• Promote the development of the forestry sector from a sustainable perspective, as a basis for the creation of stable employment and rural development.
• To support all the economic sectors of the Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés Protected Natural Area – Xurés World Biosphere Reserve in terms of environmental management, especially the forestry and tourism sectors, the main economic engines of the municipality of Entrimo.
• Ensure that all workers in the area are adequately sensitized, trained and qualified to address a qualitative leap in environmental matters that provides them with new employment opportunities.
• To train workers in the area for the diversification of forest production with alternative products and services and thus promote and promote the sustainable use of all forest products, as well as the integration of forest management with silvopastoral and hunting management.
• To encourage greater participation and commitment to forest management by their owners, through training, extension and dissemination programmes of a forest culture for the rural environment of the area.
