This project will establish the largest land stewardship network in Mediterranean Spain to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity.
This project of the Foundation Friends of the Imperial Eagle, the Iberian Lynx and Private Natural Areas will establish the largest land stewardship network in Mediterranean Spain to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity through the implementation and promotion of good management practices on private farms.
Thus, it is specifically intended to determine the land stewardship network and incorporate good environmental management practices into private farms. Through training and conferences, managers will be provided with tools for the implementation of good practices on their own.
The initiative also aims to help the conservation of endangered species in the Mediterranean forest.
To this end, the activities to be carried out within the framework of this project include:
- Establishment of new land stewardship agreements
- Analysis of the good practices that are carried out (sowing, fertilization, pruning, adaptation of ponds and watering holes)
- Incorporation of new good practices to farms
- Organization of days for the exchange of experiences
- Holding a round table on nature tourism as a new option for sustainable management
