ADEAC seeks with its new initiative to know the interaction between the species included in the Galician catalogue of endangered species and the Blue Trails of Galicia
The Association of Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) continues with its Blue Trails initiative with the new project “Development of the geographical influence of the Blue Trails in Spain and study on the presence of endangered flora and fauna species in the Blue Trails of Galicia” supported by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. Food and Environment.
Its objective is to know the interaction between the species included in the Galician catalogue of endangered species and the Blue Trails of Galicia to contribute to the protection and maintenance of the habitat. The project aims to create a documentary collection that supports the management of threatened coastal species and informs, raises awareness and involves society in the conservation of species. To this end, the following actions have been carried out:
- Inspection and control visits to the new Blue Trails awarded in 2016.
- Review of the criteria, preparation and sending of inspection reports to the municipal managers of the Blue Paths.
- Launch of the Blue Trails 2017 campaign.
- Analysis and assessment of the candidacies for the Blue Path in 2017.
- Organization and celebration of the National Jury of the Blue Trails 2017
- Preparation and production of the Blue Trails diplomas and plaques that will be delivered at the Blue Trails and Flags award ceremonies in the twelve coastal autonomous communities.
- Presentation of the project and the results of the Blue Path program in the meetings, conferences and courses of a national and international nature organized or in which ADEAC participates.
- Updating of the contents included in the interactive guide of the 69 Blue Trails, inclusion of information regarding the new Blue Trails awarded in 2017 and incorporation of the Blue Trails into the Blue Flag beach application.
- Study on the presence of species included in the Galician Catalogue of Endangered Species in the Network of Blue Trails in Galicia.
- Preparation and production of an informative publication in A2 format that will collect the results obtained from the study on the presence of endangered species in the Blue Trails in Galicia.
- Creation of two interpretive panels on the presence of endangered species in Blue Trails of Galicia to be exhibited in the network of 14 ADEAC Blue Centres in Galicia.
- Design of a program of environmental education activities to be developed in the Blue Trails.
- Incorporation of the results of the study on endangered species in Galicia in a section of the Blue Trails website (senderosazules.org)
