It will contribute to the implementation of the European Biodiversity Strategies, from Field to Fork, and the objectives of the Framework of Actions for the Sustainable Development of the Area of Influence of the Doñana Natural Area through the development of demonstrative experiences aimed at improving existing knowledge about the biodiversity associated with the cultivation of traditional rainfed vineyards in Doñana, favouring its enhancement based on the ecosystem services it provides and as a sustainable and resilient agricultural model in the face of climate change, promoting green employment and the maintenance of its productive, environmental and social functions.
It has these specific objectives:
- To raise awareness, sensitize and value the environmental, cultural and social heritage associated with a traditional rainfed vineyard management model and its value for Doñana based on Nature-based Solutions.
- To improve landscape integration and the reception capacity for biodiversity and ecological functionality of rainfed vineyards, improving ecological connectivity at the local level and the provision of ecosystem services, contributing to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
- To promote sustainable rural development associated with the rainfed vineyard landscapes of Doñana, identifying spaces of opportunity that contribute to local socio-economic development through the diversification of activities based on their environmental and socio-cultural value, as well as on strengthening the role of producers.
- Facilitate the transfer of results between owners, cooperatives and wineries for the integration of the proposed management model as a strategy compatible with the conservation of Doñana, promotion of biodiversity and adaptation to climate change.
- Define proposals for improvement for public policies, which ensure the necessary accompaniment and economic support for cooperatives, wineries, owners and producers who apply the proposed model for the management of traditional rainfed vineyards in Doñana.
