The Urban Biodiversity Conservation educational programme aims to raise awareness among children and young people about the importance of biodiversity conservation in cities.

The Urban Biodiversity Conservation educational programme aims to raise awareness among children and young people about the importance of biodiversity conservation in cities.

The project highlights the importance of becoming aware that men do not live alone in the city, but are accompanied by a multitude of living beings that contribute to urban environments not being empty spaces of biodiversity.

The project includes the implementation of an “eco-initiative” contest, as well as activities, sessions and practical field days and the publication of teaching material, all aimed at schoolchildren and the general public from different cities in Spain. The intention is to involve the population so that they participate actively in order to motivate the development of real initiatives for conservation and improvement of sustainability, especially in urban areas.
