Through an awareness programme in fields related to the urban environment, this initiative aims to raise awareness among the population about the water cycle, park and garden areas, and waste.

Through an awareness programme in fields related to the urban environment, this initiative aims to raise awareness among the population about the water cycle, park and garden areas, and waste.

The specific objectives of the proposal include:

• To know the origin of wastewater and the operation of a wastewater treatment plant.
• Raise awareness of the seriousness of water loss and the importance of saving it.
• Become familiar with natural elements that can be found in a park or garden and in street furniture.
• Get to know the parks and gardens of the city and the nearby nature. Respect and help in the maintenance of green areas.
• Know the types of waste, its correct reuse, recycling and reduction. Raise awareness of the problems of pollution generated by waste and the importance of selective collection.

To this end, a series of activities will be developed, including a visit to a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and educational tours through parks and green areas that will be complemented by recreational activities. As for waste, interactive talks will be launched based on explanatory panels and game activities.
