The aim is to make available to all Spanish waste management companies a tool, used at European level, that allows them to quantify the greenhouse gas emissions generated by their activity.

The aim is to make available to all Spanish waste management companies a tool, used at European level, that allows them to quantify the greenhouse gas emissions generated by their activity.

In this way, companies will be able to take measures to reduce emissions, contributing to the reduction of Spain’s total emissions and its sustainable development. It is also intended to promote recycling and proper waste management, since it has benefits in mitigating climate change.

The initiative includes the following activities:

• Translation from English to Spanish of the Kyoto Protocol for Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Waste Management Activities.
• Organization of the forum “Waste Management: Contribution to the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions”.
• Design and elaboration of the forum image: website, program, etc.
• Update of the ASEGRE website for downloading the Protocol and registration of the information on the form.
• Printing and distribution of the programme to 3,500 agents in the sector.
• Inclusion on the website of the presentations generated in the forum.
