The main objective of this initiative is to improve the quality of climate change integration into environmental assessment studies. To this end, the Spanish Association for Environmental Impact Assessment (AEEIA) has created a useful and practical website that adapts scientific information on the evolution of climate change and allows its application in environmental assessments.
Firstly, acompilation of existing information on climate change and impact on the environment. In addition, working groups made up of members of the Spanish Association for Environmental Impact Assessment AEEIA and the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC) to define the contents and structure of the website. A significant amount of work has been done to search for resources and to standardise the files of each resource, as well as to organise them by different criteria for their search, which facilitates the work of the technician.
The project has made it possible to create a new web platform in which numerous resources (documents and tools) are made available to technicians in the field of environmental assessment that will facilitate the inclusion of the climate change variable in their projects. This will make it possible to orient these assessments towards reducing impacts on the climate as well as adapting the infrastructures and constructions assessed to climate change.
