OBJECTIVE: To improve employability in the field of reforestation
DESCRIPTION: The VERDE CARBONERAS project presented to the Biodiversity Foundation is mainly aimed at the teaching of two certificates of professionalism, level 1 and 2 of the same agricultural family, for training qualification in reforestation and maintenance of green areas. The inclusion of this territory in the JUST TRANSITION STRATEGY means the concentration of efforts and resources in the coming years, mainly through the Just Transition Agreements, to carry out the difficult transition to a new decarbonised economic and productive model.
The City Council of Carboneras is also working to turn this transformative challenge into an opportunity for economic reactivation and employment. To this end, it is developing, in line with Spain’s Reforms, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the objectives of the Spanish Urban Agenda, a territorial strategy that develops, among others, resources to attract green economy companies, programmes that reduce the current extreme tourist seasonality towards a more sustainable model and renaturation and reforestation projects that contribute to the decontamination of soils and partially mitigate the repercussions of the operation of the Thermal Power Plant.
