We have just published four calls for grants, three of them for the development of projects that result in the improvement of terrestrial and marine biodiversity in Spain and for which we are going to allocate 5.1 million euros.
In addition, we have launched a series of subsidies, endowed with 2 million euros, for the creation of green employment and to promote the hiring of unemployed people in this area.
Thus, through a call endowed with 3 million euros, projects are sought that provide information on the state of protected areas, as well as on the situation of the species that make up the list of wild species under special protection and the Spanish catalogue of endangered species, with special attention to those that are in a critical situation.
The aid for marine conservation in Spain, which has a budget of 1.7 million euros, is aimed atprojects that contribute to the management and conservation of marine biodiversity in the face of the impacts it may suffer and also to ensure its sustainable development.
All projects that apply for these grants must contribute to achieving the goals reflected in the Strategic Plan for Natural Heritage and Biodiversity.
We also make public grants worth two million euros that aim to hire unemployed people. The entities that carry out these contracts must be linked, directly or indirectly, to the green or blue economy, or generate employment that contributes to sustainable business lines and improvement of green employment. These grants are part of the Empleaverde Program, an initiative to improve employment, entrepreneurship and the environment.
Special attention will be paid to priority groups, such as women, young people up to 35 years of age, those over 45, immigrants, people with disabilities and residents of protected areas and rural areas.
Applications may be submitted from 9 November 2019 to 17 February 2020 for contracts initiated between 5 May and 17 August 2019.
