Specifically, together with the Laciana Biosphere Reserve Foundation, the Biodiversity Foundation participates in the Preparation of the Strategic Plan of the Reserve. This initiative is making it possible to research the resources available to the Reserve through its inventory and cataloguing in order to subsequently draw up the lines of action that will be included in the Strategic Plan.
To this end, numerous activities are carried out such as the inventory and evaluation of resources; the preparation of cartographies on the natural resources and cultural heritage of the Biosphere Reserve; support for basic and applied research in the Reserve and its use as indicators of sustainability. In addition, the establishment of guidelines for the organization and development of codes of good practice in the economic sectors of the Reserve is contemplated, such as tourism-hospitality, agri-food, manufacturing industry and crafts. Collaboration with other reserves is also envisaged; the establishment of management mechanisms and a local participatory structure; the publication of informative material and the stimulation of private initiatives for the promotion of employment in the area.
