The Standing Committee of the Governing Board of the Tagus Hydrographic Confederation has today begun the procedures for the concession to the Canal de Isabel II of an additional 50 cubic hectometres from the Alberche River, 5 hm3 expandable to 12 hm3 from the Sorbe River and 17 hm3 from the Tagus River, in compliance with the commitment made by the Ministry of the Environment to make 200 available to the citizens of Madrid additional cubic hectometres, as set out in the collaboration protocol that Minister Cristina Narbona delivered to the first vice-president of the Community of Madrid, Ignacio González, and which eight months later has not yet been signed.
Likewise, the Tagus Hydrographic Confederation is waiting for the signing by the Canal de Isabel II of an agreement for the delivery of the facilities within the territory of Madrid of the Almoguera-Mondéjar pipelines, already completed, which will mean an increase of 12 cubic hectometres of the resources from the La Tajera dam.
