COP29 on Climate Change

The 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, is a crucial opportunity to accelerate action to address the climate crisis. With global temperatures reaching record highs and extreme weather events affecting people around the world, COP29 will bring together leaders from governments, businesses and civil society to find concrete solutions to the most important problem of our time. A key theme of COP29 will be finance, which is imperative for countries to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect lives and livelihoods from the growing impacts of climate change. The conference will also be a key moment for countries to submit their updated national climate action plans under the Paris Agreement, which are due in early 2025. At this COP29, the Spanish pavilion will become a meeting space in which different key agents will reflect on the main issues of this global agenda.
