More than 600 students from 11 schools in the autonomous city of Melilla have participated this week in the initiative “School travels through the ocean with Natura and Marina”, which the Biodiversity Foundation has launched with the aim of promoting the acquisition of skills and knowledge related to the conservation of the marine environment through research and play. After the development of online training for 34 teachers from 11 schools in Melilla at the end of February, the participants put their knowledge into practice with face-to-face sessions aimed at students, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and its Provincial Directorate in Melilla. This initiative is part of the project “Opportunities to green schools with the integration of marine Natura 2000 Network content in the school environment”, which is part of the training plan aimed at the public administrations competent in the management of the marine Natura 2000 Network and other users, initiated with the LIFE INTEMARES project. and it is promoted thanks to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), financed by the European Union’s NextGeneration funds.
