The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition has launched the European Connection Lab, part of the new edition of the emprendeverde labs, a series of free training and experimentation laboratories developed by the Emprendeverde Network.

The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition has launched the European Connection Lab, part of the new edition of the emprendeverde labs, a series of free training and experimentation laboratories developed by the Emprendeverde Network.

The European Connection Lab, which is being held in Casar de Cáceres (Extremadura) from 18 to 21 November, is aimed at 40 entrepreneurs who already have a green and/or blue business idea, but who need help to mature and validate their sustainable project before launching into the market.

The selected people will have the opportunity to have the support of the largest green entrepreneurship network in Spain, of which more than 9,000 people are already part. In addition, this edition will focus on the exchange of ideas with Portugal’s innovative green entrepreneurship ecosystem.

According to the experience of the Emprendeverde Network, most of the people who embark on a green project have advanced knowledge in their area of specialisation and a high sensitivity to the environment, but they need to improve their knowledge and skills necessary in the business management part (59%).
For this reason, the European Connection Lab offers training for the 40 entrepreneurs through face-to-face and online training actions in the region of Extremadura to develop skills and competencies and thus be able to launch entrepreneurship initiatives in the field of the green economy.

This lab includes 4 days of intensive and face-to-face training sessions, lasting 5 hours, where inspiring projects in green entrepreneurship will be learned, knowledge related to social innovation, business opportunities and trends in the energy transition, the fight against depopulation and circular economy will be acquired, as well as sources of financing for green economy projects and negotiation. In addition, networking actions will be generated to promote the generation of international collaboration networks. The training will be completed with a 16-hour online follow-up, in which to delve into key subjects of green entrepreneurship.

On the other hand, participants who create their company will have the support of the Biodiversity Foundation to disseminate their initiative and will receive a seal of company constituted with the support of the Emprendeverde Network. The registration period will be open until October 22 at the following address: http://labs.emprendeverde.es/lab-conexion-europea/.

PORTUGAL, AN ECOSYSTEM TO BE RECKONED WITH
In recent years, Portugal has been pushing hard in innovation and attracting a lot of interest at an international level, attracting investment in the green sector and technological and social innovation. This action specialises in connecting with Portugal through visits to inspiring projects on both sides of the border, highlighting the business opportunities offered by the green economy.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR A GREENER FUTURE
Green entrepreneurship can play a prominent role as a transformative tool to move towards a greener and fairer economy, contributing with its initiatives to provide solutions for mitigation and adaptation to climate change, to promote new, more circular production models that minimise waste generation and a more efficient use of resources. to contribute to sustainable development and to fix population in depopulated and rural areas. Hence the importance of platforms to support green entrepreneurship such as the Red emprendeverde, promoted by the Empleaverde Programme and co-financed by the European Social Fund, whose main objective is to promote the creation of companies in the field of the green and blue economy.
