Technician in the Research and Climate Change Area

To monitor and execute projects and initiatives in the area that contribute to the development of the National Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change and their respective Work Programs and to ensure the best use of the funds allocated for this purpose. Promote the application of the best available scientific knowledge to adopt measures to mitigate the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss,
as well as promote initiatives that allow adaptation and resilience.

Within the framework of the calls for grants, from different funds and themes, executed by the Biodiversity Foundation and the own projects it carries out, the selected person will perform the following functions:

  • Participate in the preparation of documents associated with calls for subsidies and tenders.
  • Collaborate in the associated procedures and resolve doubts of the applicant entities.
  • Evaluate the proposals submitted to calls and tenders.
  • To train, accompany and assist the beneficiary entities during the presentation, execution, justification and settlement of their beneficiary projects.
  • Channel all communications for the beneficiary entity and be the focal point of the project in the foundation.
  • Perform the technical and economic follow-up of the execution, justification, liquidation and payment of the projects.
  • Prepare technical evaluation reports and results. Extract monitoring, execution and result indicators.
  • Collect and provide information for dissemination and communication.
  • Participate in the preparation and follow-up of the contracts and their associated documents.

  • To support the control and auditing processes of the activities developed.
  • Assist in the organization and participate in meetings and events related to the activity of the area.
  • To elaborate and design action proposals for the fulfillment of the Area’s objectives and for the better performance of the tasks of execution, evaluation, follow-up and control of the projects.
  • To monitor developments in regulations, strategies, plans, programs and projects related to the Area and its activities: identification of best practices and activities, preparation of speeches and presentations, participation in publications, etc.
  • Prepare documentation and information reports on projects and procurements (databases, indicators, reports, presentations, graphic material, notifications, etc.).
  • Any other function entrusted by the Heads, Coordination, Subdirection and/or Direction.
  • University degree (also former bachelor’s degrees) in the branch of Sciences.
  • Experience of at least 2 years in performing tasks similar to those described above in or for the public sector and/or in the management of funds linked to the environment
  • Specific postgraduate studies in climate change.
  • Specific training in project management.
  • Experience in the management of calls.
  • Specific training in Law 38/2003, of 17 November, General Subsidies.
  • Intermediate level of English.
  • Intermediate level of Excel.
  • Temporary contract (interim due to vacancy until it is definitively covered by the replacement rate) in accordance with current legislation, with the professional category of Technician.
  • Gross Annual Salary: 27,807.37€
  • Location of the position: Fundación Biodiversidad headquarters in Madrid.
