COND-ECO TUR: Training for sustainable nature tourism

Empleaverde+ program

The “COND-ECO TUR” project is a strategic training initiative designed to improve the employability of 105 unemployed people on the island of La Palma, acting as an engine for socio-economic reconstruction and the redefinition of the island’s tourism model after the volcanic eruption of 2021.

In a context of necessary recovery, the project takes the opportunity to pivot towards sustainable nature tourism, a key source of employment that highlights the exceptional natural heritage of La Palma, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. The aim is to train local talent to lead this transition, generating quality and resilient employment that contributes to the recovery of the affected areas and the demographic challenge.
