The project presents a fourth phase of three others already executed in previous calls of the Pleamar Program. The LanderPick projects allowed the construction of LanderPick vehicles for the release and collection of oceanographic landers , which have become equipment for routine use at the IEO. During the development of vehicles and landers , possible improvements and new technological developments were considered. The DILAN project proposes four actions linked to the LanderPick system and linked to action C2.1 of the Intemares project:
- Development of a prototype lander resistant to trawl nets that allows monitoring areas subject to this type of fishing
- Design of very low-cost landers based on cement and rope trellises
- Improvements to long-term imaging systems, including a stereoscopic camera, lasers for photogrammetry and a priming system
- Incorporation of an actuator in the vehicle that allows the operation of accessory mechanisms, in particular Niskin bottles and a harpoon for the on-site marking of deep-sea fish.
