LEVER aims to enhance the pluriversality of Human Rights-Based Approaches (HRBA) for an effective and efficient implementation of different instruments in the control of climate change, biodiversity and pollution, while supporting transformative holistic change for the safeguarding of biodiversity.

In Spain, the wetlands and aquifers of the Doñana National Park will be studied.

  • Mapping to identify local/indigenous key actors who should participate in the Wisdom Circular Dialogue (CDW).
  • Presentation, through a workshop in each case study, of a preliminary list of principles and a legal glossary to indigenous peoples and local communities.
  • Implementation of Three Horizons participatory scenarios with stakeholders in each of the five study regions.
  • Social learning and exchange between case studies, through the sharing of experiences (through quick interviews and a process of self-reflection).
  • Development of a framework for the comparison of the commons between case studies.
  • Characterization and comparison of tensions in the management of common goods.
  • Comparison between cases of the conditions under which a pluriversal human rights-based approach (HRBA) can act as a transformative lever for a more equitable and effective management of the biodiversity-climate-pollution nexus.
  • Analysis of archetypes of transformation trajectories, highlighting the different processes by which a pluriversal human rights-based approach (HRBA) can act as a transformative lever.
