PRTR Call for Proposals Project
The aim of the ECO-PM project is to improve the sustainability and recyclability of packaging with the implementation of a 5-layer extruder and MDO technology, which will reduce the thickness of the plastic film by at least 20% and improve its mechanical and barrier properties. Recycled polyethylene will be used in the inner layers and virgin in the outer layers, guaranteeing food safety. In addition, water-based recyclable coatings will be developed for plastic and paper packaging, offering a heat-sealable solution for customers without the need for large investments.

1.960.000 €The general objective of the ECO-PM project is to develop 100% recyclable packaging using advanced technologies such as the 5-layer extruder, MDO orientation and 100% recyclable coatings, which allow optimizing the thickness of the packaging film by 20%, increasing the use of recycled polyethylene in internal layers to 40%, and replacing non-recyclable materials such as BOPP and PET with structures completely produced with polyethylene.
