The project aims to disseminate to society in general the importance of responsible animal ownership, in relation to the conservation of biodiversity, to avoid the illegal trade of endangered species and animal species in general and to prevent the abandonment of exotic animals in natural habitats and ecosystems. To this end, the CITES Interpretation Centre and Responsible Animal Ownership will be set up at the Barcelona Zoo facilities, where complementary dissemination and awareness-raising activities will be carried out.

Some of the actions contemplated by this project are the implementation of educational campaigns to raise awareness about the illegal trade in protected species and its impact on their populations and their natural habitats.
