Creation of an innovative line for the recovery of plastic polymers from banal, commercial and industrial waste in the Community of Madrid

PRTR Call for Proposals Project

The project aims to implement a treatment line for banal and commercial industrial waste and private packaging (15 01 02 Plastic packaging, 15 01 05 Composite packaging, 15 01 06 Mixed packaging, 20 01 39 Plastics), with the capacity to treat 10,000 t of waste, using a chain of state-of-the-art equipment. that combine optical separation technology with artificial intelligence and image analysis for real-time characterization. The results foresee a recovery of 77% of polymers (76% of PET, 76% of HDPE, 76% of FILM and 80% of recovered mixed plastics), after the application of optical separators, and a reduction in the deposit of 43% of plastic waste in landfill. The plastic material, once separated, will be destined to specialized recyclers.
