Development and implementation of technological actions to improve the quality of pellets and process efficiency in the management of low-density polyethylene of agricultural origin (POLDAG-QUIMP)

PRTR Call for Proposals Project

The project seeks to optimize the management of polyethylene to improve the quality of the final product (pellets), reducing process losses by around 2%. The modifications are based on the incorporation of equipment in the sorting line (dry cleaning) that reduces improper substances present in the plastic (sand and stones) before the extrusion process, as well as in the filtration system of the same. This will increase the final quality and allow the use of recycled plastic in applications with greater added value, within the agricultural sector itself, promoting the circular economy.
